The blossom dilemma
The advent of Spring in west London means a short but vibrant season of flowering trees and blossom. As a photographer there is an almost irresistible urge to take shots of all that beauty which isn’t going to last long.
Earlier this month I had to take pictures of a set of plush magnolia bushes at BBC Television Centre. The pink and purple blooms just had to be captured.
Beautiful, rich colour but muted in this shot with a shaded aspect and a cool filter. I also took a packed frame of blooms in the bright sunshine and when it came to editing the shot, decided to go black and white. Is it a sin to drain blossoms of their colour? I’ll let you be the judge of that…
