Afternoon tea
An indulgent treat for a weekend afternoon in London. It’s fashionable, offered by many hotels and eateries in the capital – not to mention delicious.
The goodies are served on a three-tiered tower, just like this trio of shots. Fluffy scones filled with juicy sultanas are on the bottom (with raspberry jam and clotted cream on the side). Delicate finger sandwiches of salmon, cucumber, cheese and tomato sit in the middle – but should be eaten first.
And pride of place on the top tier is a selection of little cakes, with a rich coffee square and an iced sponge caught in the frame above. Of course the entire feast has to be washed down with tea. If you come to London, this is a ritual you should indulge in.
So, which venue did you go for? Ritz and Dorchester for me! :) (Great images too…!)

Thanks Richard! This was one of the new places, Johnston’s on The Strand. I hear The Lanesborough is hard to beat.
