Degenerated beauty
Blackened by cold with wrinkled and withered ruby skin, far removed from its plump youth. But it holds onto its place in life and nature, next to the yellow vibrancy of a neighbouring clump of mimosa.
Beautiful and intriguing enough to be captured, before its inexorable march towards death and disappearance.
Great images; the detritus of a cold winter (although the first sentence of your post does remind me of an ex, lol…) :)

What kind of plant was this?

Hi Steve. Hmmmm, that’s a good question. I can only vaguely identify it as a rose hip… but I’m sure it’s something more specific than that. What a beautiful site you have.
