A breath of wind
The meadows are bursting with life. The grass is shooting up and is studded with buttercups, clover and clouds of cow parsley. They’re less prevalent in urban west London, so I found mine in the grounds of Eltham Palace, tucked away in the city’s south-east corner.
This involved a lot of lying in the grass and lengthening the exposure as much as possible to catch the grasses as a breath of wind-swept them into motion. I also tried some deliberate off focus to emulate the mood of a burgeoning summer.
Summer time, and the livin’s easy …. :)

I feel so relaxed looking at your photos. They wash away my tiredness and they take me to another dimension.

Hi Lise. Oh my, that’s so lovely to hear. I’m glad they have this positive effect on you. That’s my job done :))

It’s fun to experiment and I particularly like the first one.

Thank you Lee. I just wanted to find a way to catch the wind brushing through the grass. Next stop is using a ND filter, but more on that in due course. I hope all’s well down your way…

All’s good and cold overnight, great sunny days :) I use an ND filter down in the creek – never thought of using it for wind shots though. Looking forward to seeing them.

I was thinking more of moving cloudy skies against skyscrapers for the filter :)

Oh, I’m way off track then :) I might just do some grasses then. I have some very long grass down in the valley, now I’ll just have to wait for wind – and then remember that I was going to use an ND filter lol

Well it’s worth a go. I wasn’t able to lengthen the exposure very much but still caught the effect of the breeze – a longer exposure may make it milkier and more abstract.

Just gotta remember :) there’s been no wind for a week . . . .
