Manchester high skies
This is one of my favourite photographic compositions. Tall buildings, big skies and camera pointing aloft. Big and minimal combined.
One day Salford Quays was drenched in a blue canopy, the next day Manchester was leaden and grey. But their new buildings looked equally striking under varying April weather.
Great photos!! Our city has so much to offer!

Thanks James :) Yes it certainly does. Plenty of material for the camera.

Fair April is gorgeous, and Grey On Storm is intriguing. What building’s that, Mike? And you had some decent weather thrown in there too, which is always a bonus (he said, looking out of the window at the leaden skies and heavy rain…)

Thanks Richard! I only know that’s one of the newer buildings on the university campus next to Oxford Road. I shall have to do some further research! And yes, those gorgeous skies didn’t last…

There’s nothing wrong with good compositions of great architecture.

Thank you Koos, I agree :) The compulsion to capture these images is so great there must be something in it!
