This small landlocked country in the Caucasus mountains groans under the sheer weight of its own history.
For the visitor Armenia offers a great deal. It’s studded with ancient monasteries and churches, set in a majestic, rugged landscape.
The experience can be rustic, but the tables are always full of delicious food. And if you’re lucky, you will find a mysticism and spirituality in this ancient land.

Thank you Bunty, I’m glad you like them. It’s a fascinating place. Very safe although it’s worth keeping an eye on the sidewalk after dark… they can be a little unmade in some places!

Hello Richard and thanks! Yes, Armenia was quite something. It’s not so far away and worth a visit. The passport will be dog-eared by the time I’m done with it!

Beautiful story, Mike. You’ve visited some nice places in Armenia. FIt looks peaceful and somehow a bit deserted. By the way, I love the photo of the boy after the wedding.

Thanks Koos. It’s a very interesting country. It did feel a bit desolate at the time but I felt differently when I went back to these photos.
