Moody rooftops
These are the first photographs since moving to our new home and bidding farewell to W6.
The move did not take us far, but it’s different. Gone is the conventional ground floor flat – it has been replaced with upper floor living and a space in the rooftops.
Our skies were laced with stormy, rain-bearing clouds which look even more pronounced in monotone. In the scene below, the tower block is part of the old BBC Television Centre where I used to work. The site is now being slowly transformed, which we can see from our new neighbourhood.

Welcome to your new home, as they say, Mike. A change of scene can be refreshing, once that upheaval is behind you. Might even get some blue skies later this week!

Many thanks for your good wishes, Andy. We have some teething troubles so it’s not quite done yet. The moody sky gave a good sunset the other night, so it should be a roof of contrasts.

Interesting shots of the London skyline from your new home. Glad the move went OK and you are setting in. Clouds do seem stronger in B&W I’ll have to try it some time.

Thanks Lee. I did really ratchet up the moodiness using an infra-red base. Definitely worth a go to dramatise the cloudscape. But the skies were pretty stern that day!

Definitely moody, Mike. Looks dark and dreary. I don’t recall your other neighborhood ever looking that way…I hope you are finding cheer and happiness despite the gloomy views.

It’s quite a contrast from the old place, Robyn, but there was blue in the sky! I’ll have to take some cheerful shots as a contrast :)
